The MZ31 series MZ8 type PTC Electronics is a highly reliable PTC Element designed for overcurrent and overload protection. Key Features of PTC Electronics

Working Principle

As indicated in Fig 2 as below,when the circuit is in a normal state, the current passing through the PTC Thermistors  remains below the rated current, allowing the PTC Element to maintain a low resistance. This ensures that the normal operation of the protected circuit, such as the primary and secondary loops of a voltage transformer, is not disrupted.

However, if a fault occurs and the current exceeds the rated level, the PTC Electronics rapidly heat up, increasing its resistance. This high resistance effectively "turns off" the circuit, protecting it from potential damage. Once the fault is resolved, the PTC Element automatically returns to its low resistance state, allowing the circuit to resume normal operation.
